Wavelength Speech Therapy

Neuro-focused speech therapy for adults, teens, and children

Our therapy is creative, supportive, and always person-centered.

Founded by a speech-language pathologist and mental health advocate, we bring a depth of understanding about brain health, which is connected to how we think and communicate with others.

Everyone deserves a voice that feels authentically their own

and allows them to connect with the people they love.

Let us help you get there.

The brain is incredible, and yours is no exception.

Whether your brain has suffered from a stroke or a brain injury, or you want to help your child’s brain develop to its full potential, we want to partner with you and your family to help you reach your goals.

We understand that communication and brain health are the foundations for meaningful connection and quality of life.

Our method involves partnering with you and your loved ones to help you surpass expectations when it comes to recovering from a stroke or brain injury, managing a learning impairment, developing a voice that aligns with your identity, or hearing your child say their first words.

Therapy will take place in the location where you feel the most comfortable—in your home, at a community location, or via our telehealth platform. We work with you to ensure every step of therapy is personalized to your needs and goals.

We offer speech therapy services for:

  • Stroke Rehabilitation: Aphasia and Speech Impairment

Have you had a recent stroke or a past TIA? Do you have trouble understanding what others are saying or using the words you want to use in conversation? Does your speech sound slurred?

  • Mild Cognitive Impairment

Are you used to being “sharp” but now have trouble remembering what happened a few minutes ago or earlier in the day? Do you lose your train of thought in conversations or have trouble getting to the words you want to use in conversations?

  • Executive Functioning

Do you or your loved one struggle with setting goals and then carrying out the necessary tasks to accomplish that goal? Do you have a diagnosis of ADHD? Do you have trouble solving everyday problems after a stroke or brain injury? Do these “thinking difficulties” impact your ability to do your job or learn at school?

Do other people have difficulty understanding what you or your child have to say? Do you get nervous giving presentations at work or answering questions in class? Would you like to become a more confident communicator?

  • Literacy, Reading, and Study Skills

Do you or your child need additional support with foundational or complex reading skills? Do you have a family history of dyslexia or learning impairment? Do you or your child strive to comprehend and retain information while reading more efficiently and effectively?

  • Voice

Does your voice no longer feel like “you”? Do you have trouble being heard in noisy environments where you feel like you have to strain your voice? Would you like to develop a voice that aligns with your gender identity? Do you use your voice for your job or vocal performance?

  • Writing Skills

Do you have a story inside you waiting to be told? Would you like to write a memoir about your life for your family or craft a memorable college essay for your application? Would you like to learn narrative writing skills that could be applied to any academic or work environment, or add some more flavor to your storytelling in conversations?

  • Parkinson's Disease

Does your voice sound softer to other people than it used to? Do you have a diagnosis of another neurodegenerative disease such as Multiple Sclerosis, Multiple System Atrophy, or Huntington Disease? Would you like to recover and preserve your authentic voice?

  • Early Intervention

Is your child a “late talker”? Was your child born premature or have a history of ear infections? Is your child delayed in saying her first word or putting two words together?

  • Augmentative and Alterntive Communication (AAC)

Do you or your loved one need a speech-generating device to communicate? Would your child benefit from increased non-verbal means of communication?

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Do you or your loved one have trouble engaging with others? Would you like to understand in more depth how a brain on the autism spectrum functions? Would you like to improve your or your loved one’s social confidence for work or school?

  • Swallowing

Do you have trouble chewing or swallowing your food after a stroke or traumatic brain injury? Do you have head, neck, or throat cancer and can no longer eat what you want? Would you like to be able to swallow safely while eating in the company of others?

We understand the unique needs of individuals in each stage of life.

The latest research on the brain reveals that our brains are capable of learning, growing, and healing no matter how young or old you are—and no matter how long since your original injury or diagnosis.

How awesome is that?

At Wavelength Speech, we use the principles of neuroplasticity and neurodevelopment to grow and heal your communication and cognitive skills.
